Wikipedia describes cantilever as - "A cantilever is a beam supported on only one end."
The obvious advantage of cantilever when used in sliding gates is that you do not need to install track work but when you are talking cantilever sliding gates there are a lot more advantages than just that.
Not so long ago you would only see cantilever sliding gates on industrial sites but more and more we see cantilever sliding gates appearing in the residential suburbs. They are simple to install and virtually maintenance free so it's easy to see why.
